The Church EmpoweredChapter One “Is the Church a political Jurisdiction?” This chapter is written as the overview chapter for the book “Idolatry Influencing America.” My intention is to show bishops, pastors, elders, and other church leaders that the universal Church when organized becomes a political jurisdiction. A political jurisdiction comes from organizing a body politic. A body politic is a society. This means that when the universal Church aligns itself in harmony with God’s design it will fulfill its purpose to become an organized society which is a fully functional political jurisdiction. The Church is on the edge of a political realignment by its pensive leaders’ learning to include in their view of the Church that the Church is a politically organized society. These observant leaders, out of necessity, are learning that a Church society should have the character and national attributes it needs. The Church, as a Christian society that is politically organized, must walk through this secular world complete with all the attributes consistent with a jurisdiction. The true impact of Jesus Christ’s authority is being revealed. He is equipping the local church with the understanding of (1) what government is and (2) what authority it will have when established apart from worldly governments. Note Jesus Christ’s perspectives of authority combined with His practical plan of action in regard to world nations in the latter part of the book of Revelation.
